HAWAII
Hawaii’s story is one filled of resistance against large empires and powerful militaries to allow it’s people to stay connected to their land. The two people we interviewed and photographed, are beautiful and powerful. They each fought in different ways to lift up Hawaiian traditions. From advocating to bring back the language of Native Hawaiians to dancing hula and shouting Olis by the ocean.
