ABOUT TINTYPES
Wet plate collodion is a photographic process widely used in the mid-1800s. Collodion is poured onto a black metal plate, dipped in a silver bath to make it sensitive to light, and then it’s placed in a large format camera to take a photo. They must be processed in a darkroom within ten minutes of making the plate, hence the name “wet plate”.
